Endocrinology deals with the functioning of the endocrine glands; the thyroid gland, the parathyroid glands, the adrenal glands, the pancreas, and their diseases.
The Endocrine Centre offers all state of the art imaging procedures, CT, MR, isotope techniques, PET CT, thyroid biopsy. They provide the widest range of hormone determinations in the country. The diagnosis and treatment of endocrine orbitopathy associated with Graves-Basedow disease and tumours of the endocrine system is particularly important. If surgery is indicated, trained thyroid surgeons and pituitary surgeons proceed with the treatment.
Thyroid screening test at the Endocrine Centre is recommended for anyone who has been exposed to radiation at any time in their life. Screening test is particularly recommended for women planning to start a family before becoming pregnant.
